How to: Install the Dazychain Outlook add-in

What is the Outlook add-in?

The Outlook add-in provides a means to transfer and file emails and documents in Dazychain directly from your Outlook email inbox. Projects and deliverables can be created directly from the Outlook add-in and emails already filed in Dazychain show the titles and links to matters and deliverables where the content is stored.

The Outlook addin works with both Outlook desktop and the browser version of Outlook.

It works on both Windows and Mac.

The add-in will need to be added to Outlook and the user may then sign in with the same method that they use for Dazychain, be that via SSO or email and password.

Permission access

Microsoft deprecated Outlook legacy tokens with their introduction of a new authentication protocol, Nested App Authentication (NAA). For more information click here.

Microsoft 365 administrators will however be required authorize security permissions enable user access. To ensure uninterrupted functionality, please use the steps in this support article.

Users opening Dazychain for Outlook add-in for the first time after the update, will be required to sign into their Microsoft account and Dazychain account. When a session expires, they will be prompted to sign again as they currently do for their Dazychain login.

Confirming compatibility

Ensure the Outlook version you are using is compatible: here. 

Adding add-in via Microsoft AppSource store

The Dazychain add-in is approved by Microsoft and is located in the Microsoft AppSource store.  To add the Dazychain add-in to your Outlook:

1. Open your desktop version of Outlook.
2. Click on the More Apps icon, found in the sidebar
3. Click Add apps
   
4. Search "Dazychain"
   
5. Click Add button (note Outlook will present the correct add-in for your region)
   
6. The Dazychain add-in can now be selected when an email is open
   
   
   

Check your language and settings

Dazychain Outlook add-in is available to the USA and APAC.  Be sure to install the correct add-in that reflects your region.  Occasionally when installing the add-in there may only be one version available to you. This may be due to your language settings.  Your desktop application may be set to a different language to your web based application.

1. Login to your web based Outlook.
2. Select the settings cog in the right hand corner.
3. Select View all outlook settings.
4. Select General.
5. In Language and time change your language to reflect your region e.g. English (Australia) or English (United States).
6. Refresh after you have changed your language

Notes for IT administrators for shared inboxes

It is required that your IT department delegate, at minimum, Read-Only access to all users that will require such access. Please talk to your IT regarding being granted access to shared inboxes as required.
