Drag and drop Outlook to Dazychain troubleshooting

On both Windows and Mac users can drag emails from Outlook desktop app to the Dazychain application in Chrome, Edge, and Safari web browsers.

Apple Mac users

• For Mac users the latest version of outlook is recommended, making sure TO USE the 'New outlook mode' in order to drag drop files.
• The switch for this can be found in the top right of the screen under ‘Outlook’.
• In the dropdown the option should show as ‘Legacy Outlook’ WITHOUT a tick next to it.
• If the ‘Legacy Outlook’ has a tick next to it like below you are in the ‘legacy mode’ and should click this to switch to the ‘new’ outlook mode.
  

Note:
When you switch to the ‘new’ outlook mode it will still say ‘Legacy Outlook’ but just not have a tick next to it.

Microsoft Windows users

• For Windows users, the latest classic Outlook Desktop 365 is recommended, but DO NOT USE the 'New Outlook mode'
• You will need to switch to the legacy version of Outlook to enable the drag and drop of emails.
• The switch can be located on the far right of the application.
• If using the new mode it will be in this position below. Switch back to the ‘legacy’ version of Outlook by clicking this switch
  

It should then be in this position below to allow the dragging and dropping of emails directly to the Dazychain web application.

Note: There is an additional type of Outlook for Windows, referred to as ‘New Outlook’ or Outlook ‘light’, which is a desktop wrapper to display the browser version of Outlook. This will not allow dragging and dropping of emails and behaves much like the browser version of Outlook which also does not allow dragging and dropping of emails.

Exchange REST or EWS configuration for Outlook

Customer organisations can connect Dazychain to their On-premise Exchange server. If this is the case the Dazychain team should be informed and we will configure your organisation to use EWS instead of REST. For most cases, our default configuration works out of the box.
